    CUSTODIAN

    Part Time (3 immediate vacancies 10-15hrs/wk)

    General Functions

    Performs routine and complex janitorial duties to ensure the cleanliness of the facility and the womens locker room.

    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Six months or more of related experience in janitorial work.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance helpful.
  • Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.

    • JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner, including ability to read labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions.
  • Ability to identify and resolve potential safety and security problems. Ability to carry out instructions independently.
  • Ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds.

    PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
  • Cleans and maintains floors, walls, windows, tiled areas, and other surfaces, including stripping polish and waxing floors, and providing carpet care.
  • Cleans and sanitizes sinks, toilets, showers, restrooms and other assigned areas of building.
  • Replaces soap, paper towels, light bulbs and other supplies.
  • Empties waste containers.
  • Performs various duties such as dusting, and maintaining entrances and office areas.
  • Reports building problems.
  • Performs light maintenance as assigned.
  • May maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • May set up furniture for special events.
  • May provide day to day instructions for volunteers.
